He’s put out a ton of music since then, a lot of it excellent, but none of it generated even a fraction of this level of interest. The song is John’s biggest American hit since “Candle in the Wind 1997” and his first appearance on the Hot 100 since “Somebody Out of the Blue” from the Road to El Dorado soundtrack peaked at Number 49 in 2000.
